Alfresco is an open-source enterprise content services and process/governance platform originally founded in 2005 in San Mateo, California by John Newton and John Powell. Alfresco was taken private by Thoma Bravo in 2018 and then fully acquired by Hyland Software in October 2020; alfresco.com now redirects to hyland.com, and the product is marketed as 'Hyland Alfresco' within Hyland's content services portfolio.
