CloudCheckr

CloudCheckr is a cloud cost management and security governance (CMx) platform originally founded by Aaron Newman and Aaron Klein in Rochester, New York, to give enterprises visibility into AWS and Azure spend, security posture, and compliance. NetApp acquired CloudCheckr in 2021 to extend its Spot by NetApp FinOps portfolio, then divested the entire Spot/CloudCheckr business to Flexera in a $100 million transaction completed in March 2025. CloudCheckr today operates as a channel product within Flexera's broader IT spend and SaaS management portfolio rather than as a standalone company, and has changed ownership three times since founding.
