Salesforce Chatter is the enterprise social and collaboration feature built into the Salesforce platform, letting teams follow records, post updates and collaborate around CRM data. Salesforce is steering customers toward Slack: as of Summer '26 Chatter is no longer enabled by default in new orgs, and new Enterprise and Unlimited orgs are provisioned with a free Slack workspace connected through Salesforce Channels, though no formal retirement date has been announced.
