ScreenConnect

ScreenConnect (formerly ConnectWise Control) is a remote support and unattended remote access tool originally developed in 2008 by Elsinore Technologies and acquired by ConnectWise, LLC in February 2015. Deeply integrated with ConnectWise's PSA and RMM tools, ScreenConnect is one of the most widely deployed remote-support products among managed service providers (MSPs) and internal IT help desks, offering both cloud-hosted and self-hosted deployment options. In February 2024, ConnectWise disclosed two critical ScreenConnect vulnerabilities (CVE-2024-1708 and CVE-2024-1709, the latter rated CVSS 10.0) that were rapidly and widely exploited — including by ransomware actors — before most on-premises instances were patched, a significant security event for the product.
